Objectives of the project are
- Strengthen and promote partnership between the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki (UoH), Helsinki, Finland (academic partner) and Molcode Ltd. (industrial partner), Tallinn, Estonia.
- Develop drug-candidates efficiently protecting and supporting dopaminergic neurons in animal model of Parkinson’s disease.
- Extensive training and transfer of knowledge program will be executed during life-span of the project via secondments of the researchers between the partners and recruitment of the new scientists by both participants.
- Participation in the project will provide participants not only with additional scientific skills, but will allow industrial partner to develop two additional modules: cell-based assay unit and medicinal chemistry optimization setup. Academic partner will be involved in commercialization of the project results.
