The research program is based on the interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration between University of Helsinki (Finland) and Molcode Ltd. (Estonia) aiming at the transfer of knowledge and technologies between partners as well as training of participating scientists in neurosciences, computational and medicinal chemistry, drug design and development and molecular and cellular biology. In addition, the experienced scientists from outside of the consortium will be recruited to strengthen its scientific excellence, carry out experimental work, create new ideas and widen the scope of research areas. Academic researchers will learn the basics of the marketable product-oriented research and development and intellectual property rights protection. Scientists from industrial sector will work in an academic atmosphere. Project participants will receive formal training in several fields of sciences, attending lectures and courses available in Finland and Estonia, and practical training carrying out research to achieve project goals. All seconded and newly recruited researchers will participate in regular group meetings and scientific seminars held in the University of Helsinki and Molcode Ltd. as well as in consortium-organized meetings. All project participants will take part in dissemination of the results to scientific community and general public, spreading the information via journals, magazines, newspapers, conference proceedings, TV and web-based sources.
